Wolf Mountain Christmas Trees & Nursery is a small choose-and-cut Christmas tree farm and backyard nursery….which is really in the front yard! We have almost 5 acres, 3 of which are planted in Christmas trees.
Stan Shurtz bought the property at 18251 Retrac Way, Grass Valley, California in March of 1987. At the time it was named Happy Frog Nursery and had very few Christmas trees growing. The previous owner moved Happy Frog over to a location visible from Hwy 49 where it thrived for many years until that property was sold. Stan began planting and selling Christmas trees right away and renamed the farm Wolf Mountain Christmas Trees. He had the nursery open off and on throughout the years, but his main focus was the Christmas tree part of the business. Around 2008 Stan decided to give the nursery another chance and it has grown into the hidden jewel we have today! The name was changed to Wolf Mountain Christmas Trees & Nursery, but for most of the year we just call it Wolf Mountain Nursery.
Wallace had been our official greeter for the past 15 1/2 years. Sadly, he traveled over the Rainbow Bridge on December 2, 2020. He will be terribly missed!
